FALL 1 2026 Parent & Child (B): Thurs 4:50-5:15pm

Ages: 18 months - 4 years
Course Prerequisites: It is recommended that Child has completed Parent & Child Level 1 (A) or have permission of
instructor to participate. Parent or another caregiver must
accompany each child into the water and participate in each class.
Learning Objectives:
Builds upon the skills learned in Parent & Child Level 1 (A) and provides experience and activities for children so they—
• Understand the need for adult supervision around water.
• Learn more ways to enter and exit the water safely.
• Explore submerging in a rhythmic patern.
• Glide on the front and back with assistance.
• Perform a rudimentary stroke using combined arm and leg actions on front and back with assistance.
• Change body position in the water.
• Experience wearing a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket in the water.
• Plus, age-appropriate water safety topics.

Cancellations: When you call to register for a class, you agree to the following terms:
The YWCA reserves the right to discontinue or adjust any and all classes, including private lesson, on our lesson session schedule. If a cancellation takes place, the guardian for each swimmer will be notified.
If the YWCA cancels a class due to a power outage, quarantine requirements, building closure, inclement weather, or more, we will offer a make-up lesson date/time or a single family swim pass. YWCA Central Maine does not issues refunds for lessons. To check for building-wide cancellations, including those due to inclement weather, visit our Facebook page or call 795-4050.
If you miss a class after the first day of the swim session for any reason, including illness, you will not be offered a refund, make-up class, swim pass, or other reimbursement.
If you withdrawal from the entire swim lessons session before the first day of classes, you will receive a one-year credit for a future swim lessons session at the same rate (note: you will be responsible to pay any additional fees if you sign up for a more expensive session). No refunds are issued for voluntary cancellations or withdraws.
Parental Responsibility & Conduct Agreement:
By enrolling your child in YWCA programs, you acknowledge that you are responsible for your child's behavior and actions. Additionally, all parents and guardians are expected to treat YWCA staff, instructors, lifeguards, and fellow patrons with respect and courtesy at all times. Failure to comply with this policy may result in the revocation of your membership. By enrolling in this class, you are agreeing to these terms.
